What is the Baptism in/with the Holy Spirit? The Salvation and Power

What is the Baptism in / with the Holy Spirit?

Baptism with the Holy Spirit ( alternatevely Baptism in the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost ) in Christian theological aspect describing baptism that is washing or immersion in or with the Spirit of God. First view is associated with the Salvation of person when he receives the Holy Spirit. The second view – the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is associated with the nine spiritual gifts for the empowerment of person to move in Christian Ministry. These two views are One Baptism with the Holy Spirit.

Why should we view Holy Spirit movement or baptism in persons life in two views? For if the Bible clearly states that there is One Baptism into One Body of Christ found in 1 Corinthians 12:13 – AMP Lockman 1987 – “For by [ means of the personal agency of] one [Holy] Spirit we were all, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, baptized [and by baptism united together] into one body, and all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit.”

Because the baptism or the movement of the Holy Ghost can be described by the Holy Bible Scriptures in two views. Both are found in New Testament and all Christian traditions accept it as a theological concept althou each has interpreted it in a way consistent with their own belief.

  1. The first view is solid. Baptism of the Holy Spirit in one term is a movement of the God’s Spirit ( Spirit that proceeds from Father, the Godhead ) upon and/or within believer usually exact point after the person is saved. There is controversy surrounding this phenomenon as to whether it is legitimate or not. This is the first view, that once a person is saved the Holy Spirit is in the person and maintains in the person. Baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs at salvation when human spirit is connected to the God’s Spirit.
  2.

  3. The second view is when the Holy Spirit is imparted through water Baptism or Laying on Hands on the person who receives the Power of the Holy Ghost for the Service of God. Service in this context means empoweremenet of the Holy Ghost for the calling. For all have been called – 2 Timothy 1:9 – KJV Lockman 1987 – „Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began“. Second view explains the Anointing or the Impartation of the Holy Spirit through God directly according to the scriptures. When this happens through water Baptism or Laying on Hands, person can start to move in nine Spiritual Gifts for the Service of God. As the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was imparted directly from God – Acts 2:4 – AMP Lockman 1987 – And they were all filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words].  They received the tongues that were clear and loud at expression as say the Amplified Bible. The tongues are the most common sign of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. But always they are not present.

Biblical proof of the two views of Baptism of the Holy Spirit is found in the Acts & Romans and in the letters. Acts 2:38 – KJV, Describes Repentance ( Salvation ) “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” This is the first way to receive Holy Ghost. Directly from God at the moment of Salvation.

Another Biblical proof of the Baptism at the Salvation named as a first view of Baptism is in 1 Peter 3:21 Amplified Bible describes the baptism which is the figure of the deliverance ( Salvation ) by providing a inward cleanness and peace through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 3:21 – AMP Lockman 1987 – „And baptism, which is a figure [of their deliverance], does now also save you [from inward questionings and fears], not by the removing of outward body filth [bathing], but by [providing you with] the answer of a good and clear conscience (inward cleanness and peace) before God [because you are demonstrating what you believe to be yours] through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.“

Acts 18:15-17 – KJV Do not describe the John’s Baptism. Because John did not Baptize into Jesus Name only remission of sins. It says without any other possible interpretation that Baptism in the Name of Lord Jesus as we call it Salvation, they Received the second view of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. The Baptism through the Prayer and Laying on hand ( the impartation ) – Acts 18:15-17 – KJV“Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.”

Romans 6:2-4 Describes also that we are Baptized into Jesus death and resurrection. This occurs without any other interpretation at Salvation. This Baptism into Jesus Name, Death and Resurrection is the main key of the Salvation. Romans 6:2-4  KJV – “God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

“Newness of Life” is a New Creation in Christ. 2 Corintians 5:17 – KJV – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature ( creation NKJV ): old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. “. This is the first view when person receives the Holy Spirit at exact moment of Salvation.

The Prayer of Salvation 2013 background theology is based on the first belief but this does not undenie the Baptism of the Holy Spirit according to the Scriptures of the Holy Bible – the second view. The Holy Spirit has been sent to this world to impact peoples lives and draw the sinners to the Christ. He – The Spirit of Father is on earth agreeing with the water and the Blood of Jesus ( 1 John 5:6-8 – King James Version (KJV) 1987 ) moving in the lives of people impacting them to the repentance and salvation. If the person is willing and receives the Jesus in the heart acctually the person is receiving the Spirit of Jesus in his/her heart. Because Jesus is in Fathers right hand. And His own words in the Holy Bible He describes how He will depart to Father and Father shall sent another Comforter who will stay with us forever. John 14:17 – KJV 1987 Describes that Holy Spirit has His own will and He wills to be inside every Christian this proves that by receiving Jesus person receives the Holy Spirit who Wills and Shall be IN person.

This argument does not overcome the water Baptism. Jesus was Baptised with water and after that the Holy Spirit came unto Him to the Fathers Service and King of Glory Ministy. After the person prays the Prayer of Salvation there is a mark mentioned what the person must do. That a person who is saved should be Baptised with water as commanded by Jesus.

We need to know first that all Christians receive the Spirit upon their conversion and in this sense all Christians have been baptized in the Holy Spirit. This means that they are saved and that they have all they need at that time to be able to live godly and holy lives. 1 Cor. 12:13 says, “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.”

The term “baptize with the Holy Spirit” occurs several times in scripture:

Matt. 3:11 – “As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

Mark 1:8 – “I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

Luke 3:16 – “John answered and said to them all, ‘As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

John 1:33 – “And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, “He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the one who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 1:5 – “for John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

Acts 11:16 – “And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

Baptism of the Holy Spirit in the sense of secondary Baptism is by water and laying on hands – called impartation from God – Acts 18:15-17 – KJV. This is known by charismatic movements. This is a secondary Baptism of the Holy Spirit. After salvation the person enters the anointment of the Holy Spirit described as a well state. Person who is saved and receives the Holy Spirit is continously filled as a well with the Spirit of God. This is the first level of Anointing. The second level of Anointing of the Holy Spirit or Baptism of the Holy Spirit is received as an empowerment when Holy Spirit starts to move ( not just fill the person ) in persons life and brings the Gifts of the Spirit as He Wills into persons life. This is an Anointment for the Ministry – in this case Ministry means person who is saved starts to move in the Service of God. For example: telling other people about Jesus as Jesus commanded. The Holy Spirit Person is nesesary within any service or ministry. It is believed that the Person of the Holy Spirit manifests by the secondary Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Person can receive the Gift of Prophecy. Most common is the tongues of the Spirit. This impartatation from God. The Power of the Spirit. Is the secondary Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Conclusion:

The first view is when the person receives the Holy Spirit who indwells in him/her forever at the exact moment of Salvation. The first view is for a personal relationship with Jesus and God the Father for a person himself / herself by only for communication through the Spirit of Jesus to the Father.

The second view is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is when the Power of the God, Person of the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of Jesus comes into persons life helping and preparing person for the Service of God. The second Baptism is a direct impartation of Gifts from the God to the Service for others.Holy Spirit is imparted through water Baptism or Laying on Hands on the person who receives the Power of the Holy Ghost for the Service of God. Service in this context means empoweremenet of the Holy Ghost for the calling. For all have been called – ( 2 Timothy 1:9 – AMP Lockman 1987 ) with the Holy Calling leading to Holiness because of the God’s own Purpose and Grace which was given to us before the world began in Jesus Christ. The second view of the Baptism is the Holy Spirit filled life for the Service of God for others.
