Prayer for Financial Miracle – Breakthrough Blessings – A Miracle Prayer – Powerful Words to Pray

A Miracle Prayer - Powerful Words to Pray - Financial Miracle Prayer - Blessing and Breakthrough

Many things can happen to us in life that can lead to financial difficulty – such as the loss of a job, a business getting into unexpected difficulty, or even having a baby. Here are three prayers you can pray to ask God for help with the restoration of your financial affairs. Also further down on this page are quotes from the bible which remind us that God provides for all our needs as we trust in Him, and the famous prayer of Jabez, who approached God with great boldness, and saw a remarkable answer to his prayer.

Prayer for financial miracle

O Lord,

You placed the stars in the sky.
You created a myriad of beautiful life.
You gave us our breathe and water to drink.
You are a living Lord.
You are my Saviour, in whom I trust.
Please rescue me from this financial crisis,
Come redeem this situation.
I ask for your almighty hand to come and cover me.
Give me wisdom and strength to stand strong through this storm.
I ask for a miracle by your redeeming love.
Please restore me, lead me to a safe place, a secure place,
A place of financial balance.

In you I trust.

Amen.

Financial blessing prayer

Dear God,

Bless the work of our hands, the work of our minds and the work of our hearts.
May each day be an offering of worship to you.
May your goodness flow through our every deed.
And may you keep us, shelter us, protect us and feed us.
That we may be blessed with the finances we need,
And have the love and grace to give generously to all that are in need.

Amen.

Prayer for favor

(a prayer for God’s blessing on an event or situation)
Father,

Please cover this situation with your loving hand.
Bring your peace, healing and hope.
Hold us close and keep our hearts and minds safe.
We ask that the power of your truth would turn things around and bring your light and love.
We choose to rest in your Almighty hand, knowing that you are our fortress in times of struggle.
Thank you that you will protect us from all harm.

Amen.

Prayer for financial release

(a prayer for release from debt)

Heavenly Father,

I know that heaven is the treasure, that if I were to count the blessings of love, family and friendship I am rich beyond telling.
And yet, I confess I feel poor, that this financial debt weighs on my heart, fills my mind and grieves my soul.
O God, I can not see a way free, and despite all my hard work and efforts I still live under this debt.
Please, come and renew my mind, set it free as I leave this burden at the foot of the cross.
Help me to understand your heart for me, to breathe, live and love in your freedom. Lord, I put my trust in you, and ask for a miracle, for finances that free me from these chains.

Please hold my family and me.
Keep us all safe until that time when we are truly free.

Amen.

TOP Prayer for Financial Help From God – Prayer for Financial Blessing – Blessing of Abraham

Strong PRAYER IN FINANCIAL CRISIS - Miracle Financial Breakthrough - Prayer for Financial Blessing and Favor

We’ve all been there. The moment where you cross your fingers and pray that the bills won’t bounce. Perhaps you’ve been faced with unemployment and you have no earthly idea how you’ll be able to make next month’s rent payment. Or maybe you’re working two jobs and still can’t seem to get ahead. Financial issues can be extremely stressful and effect so many different aspects of life – both physically and emotionally.

In order to gain better control over your finances, it may be wise to consult a financial advisor who has a better idea of how to manage funds and what type of options are accessible for your specific situation. While you may believe that you have it under control and perceive no other workable solutions, getting a second opinion on your financial situation can prove to make an extreme difference. Along with professional help, it’s important to maintain your sanity with spiritual assistance. You’ll discover a financial expert’s assistance coupled with prayer will provide you with the hope and motivation you will need to overcome just about anything.

The Bible provides Christians with a number of scriptures focused on money, finances and giving. Philippians 4:19 is one of my go-to scriptures to reference when I’m facing financial issues. The verse says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” It’s important, despite the frustrations tough finances brings forth, to know that the Lord is always by your side. He will never give you more than you can manage and will provide the necessities to live a prosperous life. First, place your faith in the Lord and he’ll do the rest.

“Dear Lord, help me to leave my financial worries in Your Hands. Guide me to peace so that I can hear your wisdom. Keep me mindful of my blessings no matter how much or little I may have. Grant me the patience and tolerance necessary to calm my spirit knowing that you have everything under control. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Patience is a virtue that is required within so many elements of life – finances being one of those main elements. From time-to-time God’s children become so bogged down with the endless list of demands our life brings forward. The Lord understands your frustrations and sees firsthand how much work you’re putting in each day. Chin up friend – ask the Lord to grant you the necessary patience to get through this difficult financial period. While it may seem overwhelming, while you’re in the moment, remember that the Lord will always provide you with the resources you’ll need.

“O Lord, You placed the stars in the sky. You created a myriad of beautiful life. You gave us our breathe and water to drink.

You are a living Lord. You are my Savior, in whom I trust. Please rescue me from this financial crisis, Come redeem this situation. I ask for your almighty hand to come and cover me.

Give me wisdom and strength to stand strong through this storm. I ask for a miracle by your redeeming love. Please restore me, lead me to a safe place, a secure place, a place of financial balance. In you I trust. Amen.”

Jesus Christ, who is your Lord and Savior, understands better than anyone the spontaneity in life – and moreover, how those unexpected times can bring on financial burdens. If you’re going through a difficult time, ask the Lord for a miracle through prayer. A prayer for financial help from God can be a definite game changer and provide you with the resources that you need to get out of the hole. The world is filled with an insurmountable amount of solutions; however, identifying those answers can prove to be very challenging. Through prayer, ask the Lord to give you guidance coupled with the patience you’ll need to discover the financial solution you desperately need. In many cases, you’ll discover a solution that is seemingly been in front of you the entire time. In addition, this difficult financial time could also lead you to wisdom that you would have ordinarily been blind to.

Lastly, one of the strongest messages spiritual messages comes from Matthew.

These words redefine the true meaning behind necessity and desire. Often times, we as human beings, become obsessed with the materialistic aspects of things. Sometimes objects appear to be a necessity however, in fact, these items are not a vital aspect of survival.

“Our Lord challenged us in the Gospels not to worry about what we need in terms of the necessities of life such as food and clothing, but rather to “seek first the kingdom of God….and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). He also advised us to not to worry about tomorrow, as it would take care of itself (Matthew 6:34).”

Matthew 6:33-34 are lines to memorize and revisit when you decide it’s necessary to request a prayer for financial help from God. Our Lord came face to face with so many challenges during his life – and at times he wasn’t presented with the most appealable odds. Yet, the Lord made his resources work and did his best to make sure those around him also had a livable quality of life. Before you say a prayer for financial help, reevaluate your situation and ask yourself some very important questions. Can you wake up tomorrow and survive without the money you are asking for? Will you go hungry if you do not have the financial help you’re praying to the Lord for? Will your family be in a state of destitution without these funds? If your answer is no, then you’ll discover that life is not that bad off as is. Answering these definitive questions will help to paint the reality that may be skewed in your mind. However, if your answers to those questions are yes then find comfort in knowing that the Lord will provide and hear your prayers. Always remember that your God will always be by your side.

Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.

Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.

Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.

Father, we break and cancel all agreements, contracts confessions concerning the beast, satan, man, and the systems provision…I know i cant get out of this by my own strength but by your strength only.  Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord! 5 Prayers for Protection – Protection from Evil Bible – Powerful Prayers for Protection and Safety from the Bible

5 Prayers for Protection - Protection from Evil Bible - Prayers for Protection and Safety from the Bible

Our world is filled with events and situations that can cause great fear and anxiety. It’s easy to become overwhelmed and live imprisoned by fear.  We are promised in God’s Word that he is faithful and will protect us (2 Thessalonians 3:3).  God wants us to let go of fear and to live life to the fullest! (John 10:10) When you are overcome by worry, use these prayers for protection to remember who God is and the protection he has promised you.

1. Prayer for Personal Protection

Father, I come to You today, bowing in my heart, asking for protection from the evil one. Lord, we are assailed moment by moment with images on television, the internet, books and newspapers that leave us vulnerable to sin of every kind. Surround us with Your divine hedge of protection. Encompass us round about with Your strength and Your might. Let all who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for joy. And may You shelter us, that those who love Your name may exult in You. For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him favor as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12)

Lord, I ask that You protect our minds. Father, the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) O God, set our minds on You. Let us not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds that we may prove what Your will is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2) Help us by the power of Your Spirit to think on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, let our minds dwell on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

Strengthen us in the power of Your might, O God. Dress us in Your armor so that we can stand firm against the schemes of the devil. We know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.(Ephesians 6:10-12)

You are our keeper, O Lord, the shade on our right hand. Protect us from all evil and keep our soul. Guard our going out and our coming in. From this time and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen. – by Lynn Cooke

2. Prayer for the Protection and Safety of Family

Lord, I pray Your emotional, physical, and spiritual protection over my kids (grandkids). Keep evil far from them, and help them to trust You as their refuge and strength. I pray You will guard their minds from harmful instruction, and grant them discernment to recognize truth. I pray You will make them strong and courageous in the presence of danger, recognizing that You have overcome and will set right all injustice and wrong one day. Help them to find rest in Your shadow, as they live in the spiritual shelter You provide for them. Let them know that the only safe place is in Jesus, and that their home on earth is only temporary.  – Ryan Duncan, Culture Editor at Crosswalk.com

3. Prayer for Children’s Security

Lord, I pray that my kids (grandkids) will develop an eternal perspective and purpose, not an earthly one.  Help them to see life–and every challenge–through Your eyes, eager and unafraid to share with others the good news of Jesus wherever they go. I pray that they will set their minds on things above, not just what’s going on here, and that they will be rooted and grounded in Your love. I pray they will come to understand the extent of Your own love for them–that it surpasses all the head knowledge they will acquire in school. I pray they will be filled up with You from morning ’til night. – Rebecca Barlow Jordan

4. “St. Patrick’s Breastplate” Protective Prayer:

Celtic monks used it to start their day.The hymn was several stanzas long, and the last two stanzas were especially memorable and moving:

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

I bind unto myself the Name,
The strong Name of the Trinity;
By invocation of the same.
The Three in One, and One in Three,
Of Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the Lord.

5. “Priestly Blessings” Prayer from Scripture:

Numbers 6:22-27 is known as the “Priestly Blessing” or sometimes the “Aaronic Benediction.” There are seven requests made in this prayer.

The LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: “’The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”‘ “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”

  1. The Lord bless you…
The word “bless” means to “provide favor or benefit.” Father, we pray that for our children. You are the Eternal God. Please place Your great kindness and advantage on those we love. May they be approved and favored by You.
  2. and keep you…
The Hebrew word “keep” means to “watch, guard, defend.” This is a prayer for protection. Father, my children are not perfect. They are going to make mistakes. But please watch over them and guard them again mistakes of youth that are unalterable. Please defend them against temptation. Protect them against Satan who desires to devour them.
  3. the LORD make his face shine upon you…
This is a request for God’s presence.Father, as a parent I know that I can’t be with my children all the time, but You can. Just like they feel the warmth of the sun shining on them, please allow them to experience Your presence. Thank You for being with them wherever they go.
  4. and be gracious to you…
Grace is God’s undeserved favor. He gives us what we don’t deserve. Father, thank You for Your gift of grace. I pray that gift to be poured out on my children. Following that great gift of salvation, please show them your kindness and love in all the endeavors of their lives.
  5. the Lord turn his face toward you…
Here is a request for God’s fellowship.Father, thank You, that because of their trust in Jesus, the Holy Spirit lives in my children. Please walk with them in a powerful way. Enable them to submit to the Spirit’s control day by day and moment by moment.
  6. and give you peace.
The Hebrew word for peace used here is “shalom.” It means “completeness, wholeness, and contentment.” Lord, please calm my children’s fears; soothe their anxious souls. Keep them complete and whole in their thinking, emotions, desires, and actions.
  7. So they will put my name on ___________ (the name of your child/children).
This is a request of identification. Lord, please place Your holy mark on my children. Set them apart to be used by You. I love them but You love them more. You love them with an everlasting love. May they represent You well on their earthly journey. And when their journey is completed, welcome them home to live forever with You.

Prayers for Protection and Safety from the Bible

“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:3

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” – Psalm 46:1

“My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.” – John 17:15

‘And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” – Matthew 6:13

“Because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” – Psalm 16:10-11

Prayer for Protection

There is a long tradition in the Jewish faith of God being seen as a protector – the feast of passover celebrates this, and this theme permeates much of the Old Testament writing. In the Christian faith, not only does the Lord promise to be with his people always, but His presence is said to guard their inner beings. When Paul wrote to the Church in Philippi, he encouraged them with these words:-

“…the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus”.

(Phil 4:7, WEB)

When we pray for God’s protection, we can remind ourselves that we live in this long tradition of faith in a God as guard and protector.

Lower down on this page is a modern Christian prayer for safety and protection, an ancient Celtic prayer and a good meditation on God’s guardianship from Youtube. There are also prayers for family protection and safety at night, and two short prayers for protection at work and protection against evil. Near the bottom of this page can be found bible verses about God’s care and safety.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Dear Friends,

Not only does God give us a voice, but He invites us to use our voices with Him anytime, anywhere. Through prayer we are given access to approach the One who holds all things together—a breathtaking invitation, indeed.God eagerly awaits every request, heart cry, desire, and expression of gratitude. No syllable, consonant, or vowel offered up in prayer escapes God’s notice. Yet despite the opportunity to bend the ear of God, many of us struggle with how we should pray, what we should say, and what a vibrant prayer life really looks and feels like. When asked how to pray, Jesus provided a specific prayer as a model known as The Lord’s Prayer. But as I’ve plied the Gospels to better under

Only a handful of Jesus’ prayers are recorded, and Jesus’ teachings on prayer are limited, making every word all the more worth studying and savoring. Whether your prayer life is vibrant and active or struggling and inactive,
I’d like to challenge you to prayerfully consider and reflect on the following passages that reveal the prayers of Jesus. I’m still in the beginning stages of understanding prayer, plying its depths,

How To Be Sure God Listens To Your Prayers – Does God Really Answer Prayer? Yes, in Four Ways

Walkin in the Steps of Jesus - God answers Your Prayers

Do you believe God really answers prayer? Really and truly… that God hears your personal prayers and cares enough to respond?

Your answer to those questions probably dictates if, when, where, and how you pray.

You know, prayer can serve many purposes, but generally speaking, it’s an intimate conversation with God. Prayer involves Him stirring our hearts, us communicating with Him, and then listening for how God may respond to us.

Now, when it comes to prayer, there are a lot of folks who have the idea that God doesn’t want us to ask Him questions. But that’s not true! God delights in His children asking Him questions. In fact, God was asked questions… big and small… all the way through the Bible.

One of the people who literally put God “on trial” was a man from the Old Testament named Habakkuk. Habakkuk was a prophet in Judah, and he felt the full weight of the problems, pressures, sins, and difficulties of his family and of his nation.

SEE ALSO: What Does God Promise You?

And although Habakkuk lived a long time ago, his story is extremely relevant…especially when you look at modern history and all that we’re dealing with in America and around the world.

In Habakkuk 1:2, Habbakuk asked the following of the Lord:

“How long, O LORD, will I call for help, and You will not hear?”

This was one of those big, deep, tough, “life” questions that Habakkuk was asking God. In the midst of all the chaos surrounding his life, he was basically asking, “God, where were you when I needed you the most?”

SEE ALSO: How to Find God When He’s Silent

Habakkuk was grappling with something each of us deals with as believers: unanswered prayer. He was complaining about the silence of God… and in his heart he desperately wanted to know why God wasn’t answering his prayers.

I’m sure you’ve probably felt this way before. Anyone who’s been walking with the Lord for any amount of time has. We want answers when we pray! And it’s frustrating when it seems like God is silent.

If you’ve ever felt this way, or even feel this way today, I have a word of encouragement for you. God does answer prayer. But He does it in four different ways.

“I can’t hear you.” Sometimes the Lord can’t hear us when we pray. And it’s not because we need to talk louder or speak more clearly. Sometimes God can’t hear us when we pray because according to Psalm 66 and Isaiah 5, there is sin in our life.

“No.” Sometimes the Lord says “No” when we pray. And while this can be a very difficult answer to receive, it’s still an answer…regardless if we understand His decision at the moment or not. God is able to reveal His strength in you and me when we are broken and weak. So there is a purpose when God says “No.”

“Yes.” There is true power in prayer. And when we pray in Jesus’ name, He may also say “Yes.” “Yes, I’ll forgive. Yes, I’ll heal. Yes, I’ll step in to help.”

“Wait.” Sometimes the toughest answer to receive from God is “Wait.” When this happens, we need to remind ourselves that God is in control and can certainly handle our situation. We need to allow Him to continue working in whatever way He sees fit. And we can’t try to take back the situation, but must truly be patient and wait on God’s timing!

And this is exactly what God said to Habakkuk. He told him, “Even though you don’t think I’m listening, Habakkuk, I am working on a plan that is so much larger than you.”

The truth is, even though Habakkuk couldn’t see it, God was working the whole time! And the same is true in your life as a follower of Christ. If you’re in a holding pattern, trust that God is working, and that He is sovereign over all the details in your life.

God indeed does answer prayer…and, yes, your prayers!

A Prayer for Finances – Powerful Prayer of Prosperity

Dear God Prayer of Finances - Financial Prayer2

Heavenly Father, I have chosen Jesus as The LORD of my life and I seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, believing that the material things I need will be supplied. I choose for my character and moral disposition to be free from the love of money, greed, lust and craving for earthly possessions. I am satisfied with my present circumstances and with what I have, being confident because You have promised You will not in any way fail me, nor leave me without support. I am confident in Your faithfulness, that You will never leave me nor forsake me, nor leave me helpless.

I take comfort and am encouraged. I boldly say that The LORD is my helper and I will not be seized with alarm. I will not fear, dread or be terrified.

I believe, Father, that You wish above all things that I prosper and be in health even as my soul prospers. I will meditate in Your WORD day and night, not letting it depart from my mouth, keeping it in the midst of my heart, observing to do all that is written therein. I believe then I shall make my way prosperous and have good success. You have promised that as a doer of The WORD I will be blessed in all my deeds. I am assured that You will withhold no good thing from me as I walk uprightly. The uncompromising are never forsaken. I make it my ambition to live quietly and peacefully. I will mind my own affairs, working with my hands so that I may bear myself becomingly, correctly and honorably, and command the respect of the outside world, being self-supporting, dependent on no one and having need of nothing.

Knowing through Your WORD, Father, that You are The LORD my God who teaches me to profit and who leads me by the way I should go, I will put Your principles to work in my life regarding employment. I choose to apply myself to good deeds—to honest labor and honorable employment—so that I may be able to meet necessary demands whenever the occasion may require, and that I may not live an idle, uncultivated, unfruitful life, in Jesus’ Name.

I labor so that I may walk honestly toward those who are without. As I give, it is given to me again—good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. I do not sow sparingly and grudgingly, but rather, I sow generously, blessing others. Therefore, I can expect to reap generously and with blessings.

Billy Graham Christian Lifestyle – 10 Guidelines for Christian Living

Billy Graham Christian Lifestyle - 10 Guidelines for Christian Living

Christian Lifestyle – 10 Guidelines for Christian Living

Billy Graham

Over the last seven decades, Billy Graham has written 32 books which are an extension of his continued ministry and burden to reach as many people as possible with the Good News of the Gospel. In “Peace with God,” Mr. Graham outlines ten guidelines for Christian living. This classic volume by Billy Graham points to the fact that God is the only way to find authentic personal peace in a world in crisis.

Whether we are playing a game, driving a car, or baking a cake, there are certain rules that must be followed for our safety as well as our success.

The Bible teaches that the Christian life is one of constant growth. When you were born again, you were born into God’s family. It is God’s purpose that you will grow into fill stature and become mature in Christ. It would be against the law of God and nature if you were to remain a baby and thus become a spiritual dwarf. In 2 Peter 3:18, the Bible says that we are to grow. It implies steady development, constant enlargement, increasing wisdom.

For one to grow properly certain rules must be observed for good spiritual health.

  1. Read your Bible daily. Do not be content to skim through a chapter merely to satisfy your conscience. Hide the Word of God in your heart. It comforts, guides, corrects, encourages – all we need is there.
  2. Learn the secret of prayer. Prayer is communicating. Every prayer that you pray will be answered. Sometimes that answer may be “Yes” and sometimes “No,” and sometimes it is “Wait,” but nevertheless it will be answered.
  3. Rely constantly on the Holy Spirit. We know that the Holy Spirit prays for us (Romans 8), and what a comfort that should be to the weakest of us. Stand aside and let Him take over all the choices and decisions of your life.
  4. Attend church regularly. The visible church is Christ’s organization upon earth. Christians need one another, we need to gather together to worship God and nothing can take the place of church attendance.
  5. Be a witnessing Christian. We witness in two ways: by life and by word – and the two, where possible, should go hand in hand.
  6. Let love be the ruling principle of your life. Jesus said to those who followed Him, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:25). The greatest demonstration of the fact that we are Christians is that we love one another.
  7. Be an obedient Christian. Let Christ have first place in all the choices of your life.
  8. Learn how to meet temptation. Temptation is not sin. It is yielding that is sin. Let Christ through the Holy Spirit do the fighting for you.
  9. Be a wholesome Christian. Our lives and appearance should commend the Gospel and make it attractive to others.
  10. Live above your circumstances. Don’t let your circumstances get you down. Learn to live graciously within them, realizing the Lord Himself is with you.

A family member faces a deadly disease. Your neighbor desperately needs Jesus, but turns away every time you try to share Christ. A nation begins to crumble because its people follow their own evil ways. But what can you do?

Often, the problems we face seem too big for us. No matter how much we try, we cannot solve them on our own. It’s times like these when we need to turn to the Lord in intercessory prayer.

WHAT IS INTERCESSION?

Intercession is prayer that pleads with God for your needs and the needs of others. But it is also much more than that. Intercession involves taking hold of God’s will and refusing to let go until His will comes to pass.

Intercession is warfare — the key to God’s battle plan for our lives. But the battleground is not of this earth. The Bible says, “We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and spiritual powers in the heavens above” (Eph. 6:12).

Intercessory prayer takes place in this spiritual world where the battles for our own lives, our families, our friends and our nation are won or lost.

A PLAN FOR BATTLE

If you are born again, you are God’s son or daughter (John 1:12). As His child, you have a direct “hotline” to God. At any time, you can boldly come into His presence (Heb. 4:16)

This incredible access to God is the basis for intercession. Once you are in God’s presence, you can now discover His battle plan for the situation you are facing. Because prayer alone is not enough — you need a target for your prayers!

To discover God’s plan, all you have to do is ask. The Bible says that “if any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5). When we ask God for wisdom, His desires will become the focus of our prayers. “Let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to Him” (Romans 12:2).

ARMED FOR BATTLE

Intercessory prayer is a serious matter. And just like soldiers who are preparing for battle, we cannot take on the enemy if we leave our weapons behind. That’s why we must go into “battle” armed for spiritual conflict (see 2 Cor. 10:3,4).

First, recognize that Jesus is in control of the situation. Jesus “rules over forces, authorities, powers, and rulers … over all beings in this world and will rule in the future world as well” (Eph. 1:21). He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Then, put on “all the armor God gives” (see Eph. 6) so that you will be ready to fight with God’s weapons. These are the “weapons of our warfare” that can pull down strongholds in the spirit world (see 2 Cor. 10:3,4). They will also protect you from the attacks that are sure to come once you begin the spiritual battle.

Next, bind the work of Satan, knowing that Jesus has given you authority “to defeat the power of your enemy” (Luke 10:19). If God shows you the identity of specific spiritual strongholds that are at work, take authority over these strongholds in the name of Jesus. And always remember that “God’s Spirit is in you and is more powerful that the one that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

Finally, as you begin the spiritual battle, take comfort knowing that you are not alone: Jesus also is interceding on your behalf! The Bible says that Jesus “is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them” (Heb. 7:25, NASB; see also Romans 8:26,27,34).

PERSISTING IN BATTLE

Intercessory prayer is also prayer that doesn’t give up. It’s the kind of prayer that endures all setbacks and overcomes every obstacle. It’s prayer that “presses on” until we “apprehend” God’s will in whatever situation we are facing (see Phil. 3:12, KJV).

This kind of prayer is the key to seeing breakthroughs in your life and in the lives of those around you. Jesus gave a great model for intercession in the story of the persistent friend. Here we see a friend who knocks on his neighbor’s door at midnight to ask for three loaves of bread. The neighbor does not want to get up, but Jesus said, “because of his friend’s persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs” (Luke 11:8, NASB).

Then Jesus said, “Everyone who asks will receive, everyone who searches will find, and the door will be opened for everyone who knocks” (Luke 11:10). Those words mean keep on asking, keep on seeking, keep on knocking. In God’s time, your persistence in intercessory prayer will reap a spiritual harvest in your life and the lives of those around you!

BATTLING FOR YOUR NATION

Throughout the Bible, God searched for those willing to fight the spiritual battle for their land. In Ezekiel, God says, “And I searched for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found no one” (Ezek. 22:30, NASB).

Through intercession, you can take the offensive in the spiritual battle, building up your community, your nation and your world. As you follow God’s call to rise up and take your place in the spiritual battle, God promises to “heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14, NASB).

JOINING THE BATTLE

God is calling Christians to join His battle plan for this world — to join in intercessory prayer. He is not looking for perfect prayer warriors, just willing hearts who want to see His will come to pass on the earth. All you have to do is turn to the Lord in prayer:

“Father, I come into Your presence and ask You to give me the heart of the intercessor. Help me to be persistent in prayer until the breakthrough comes. Thank You for this powerful weapon of spiritual warfare — and for Your faithfulness in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

GOD’S WORD ON INTERCESSION

“We live in this world, but we don’t act like its people or fight our battles with the weapons of this world. Instead, we use God’s power that can destroy fortresses. We destroy arguments and every bit of pride that keeps anyone from knowing God. We capture people’s thoughts and make them obey Christ” (2 Cor. 10:3-5).

Becoming an Intersessor – The Roots of Intercession- Abiding in Christ – Spiritual Reflection

Most believers are very much familiar with the term “intercession.” But recently I’ve been asking the Lord, “What is the true meaning of intercession? What does it mean to be an intercessor?”

The Roots of Intercession

In the Old Testament, righteous kings, leaders and priests desired to know God’s statutes. Poets, psalmists and prophets all pleaded with the Lord to understand His ways.

When Jesus came, He made a powerful and controversial statement by declaring that He was the Way. The knowledge those of the Old Testament longed for was fulfilled in Christ—God in the flesh. The desire to know things that were previously beyond understanding was satisfied once Jesus came and shattered all cultural and personal paradigms of who God was and what His ways were.

The ways of God are expressed in the person of Christ the Messiah. Jesus brought the reality of heaven to earth when He descended, and He never did a single thing that contradicted the nature of the Father. He even said in John 10:31, “I and My Father are one.”

Abiding in Christ

So what does this have to do with intercession? After all, isn’t intercessory prayer just praying as hard as we can, striving to break demonic strongholds and principalities, and asking the Lord to do what is impossible for man to do on his own? Well, that’s a part of it. But what are the origins of this? What takes us to that place?

Here is the answer: powerful and effective intercession always has its roots planted in the rich soil of intimacy with Christ and the Holy Spirit. The relationship aspect cannot be neglected.

Jesus and other New Testament writers taught a recurring theme of “abiding” in Christ and in His words. To abide means “to remain or hold fast.” To remain or hold fast, in this case, means to share in a holy, passionate and ongoing relationship with the Lord and His Word.

When we abide in Him, a powerful transaction occurs—we take on the Spirit and nature of Christ (1 John 4:13). As He is, so we become in this world (1 John 2:17).

As we walk in intimacy, there is a transformation from the Spirit Himself, wherein we take on the powerful mind of Christ, the healing heart of the Holy Spirit and the perfect will of the Father (see 1 Cor. 2:16; Ps. 147:3; Rom. 12:2).

As a result of this impartation, we align ourselves with God’s purposes and carry the burdens of Christ for the world, for those who don’t know Him. Jesus told His disciples in John 15:7, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

So why is it that if I ask God to give me a brand-new BMW, it probably won’t happen? Because I’m praying from a heart of flesh, not from a heart that’s been intertwined with God’s. I’m not saying that it isn’t God’s desire to bless us, but we must remember that intercession is not about us at all. It’s all about God—His plans, His purposes, and His people. Intercession is a partnership with God.

It’s from this understanding that we pray. Out of intimate relationship with Christ and the willingness to partner with Him, the basic nature of an intercessor is formed.

Reflection

Consider the nature and content of your prayers. Are you praying from your own flesh or are you partnering with God through prayer? Perhaps He is calling you to a new level of growth and intimacy with Him.

Spend some time alone with Him today, and ask Him to help you align your prayers with His heart, mind and will.

Prayers to Pray for Unbelievers

A friend asked the question: How do I pray for unbelievers? How do I pray effectively? I trust that every Christian regularly prays for family or friends or colleagues or neighbors who do not yet know the Lord. And while we can and must pray for matters related to their lives and circumstances, the emphasis of our prayers must always be for their salvation. Here are some ways the Bible can guide our prayers.

Prayers for Salvation

We begin with prayers for salvation. Each of these prayers seeks the same thing, but in a different way or from a different angle or using different language. Each of them is grounded in a specific text of Scripture.

Pray that God would circumcise their hearts. Circumcision was the Old Testament sign of entering into God’s covenant, of being God’s people. To have a circumcised heart symbolizes having a heart that is fully joined to God, fully submissive to him. “And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live” (Deuteronomy 30:6).

Pray that God would give them a heart of flesh. The Bible contrasts a heart of flesh, a heart that is alive and responsive to God, to a heart of stone, a heart that is cold and unyielding. Pray that God would work within these unbelievers to change their hearts. “And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh…” (Ezekiel 11:19).

Pray that God would put his Spirit within them. The great joy of salvation is being indwelled by God himself. Pray that God would grant this honor to those unbelievers, that he would choose to take up residence within them. “And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules” (Ezekiel 36:27).

Pray that they would come to Christ. If unbelievers are to come to salvation, there is just one way. They must come through Christ and Christ alone. “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’” (John 14:6). Remember, too, that he is the one who calls them to come and to be relieved of the burden of their sin (see Matthew 11:28-30).

Pray that God would open their hearts to believe the gospel. Once more, God must initiate and people must respond. So pray that God would open the hearts of these unbelievers so they can in turn believe, just as Lydia did. “The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul” (Acts 16:14).

Pray that God would free them from the slavery of sin. Unbelievers may believe they are free, but they are in fact enslaved. They are slaves of sin, bound by their sin and sinfulness. Pray that God would liberate them by his gospel. “But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed” (Romans 6:17).

Pray that God would remove Satan’s blinding influence . Unbelievers have been blinded by Satan and will only ever be able to see and appreciate the gospel if God works within them. So pray that God would give them sight—spiritual sight. “In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Pray that God would grant them repentance. Unbelievers cannot repent without the enabling grace of God. So pray that God would grant them repentance, that this repentance would lead them to a knowledge of the truth. Pray as well that they would come to their senses and that they would escape from the devil’s snare. “God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will” (2 Timothy 2:25-26).

Prayers For You

You have prayed for unbelievers using different words and approaching from different angles. But you should also pray for yourself.

Pray that you will develop relationship with them. For people to be saved they must first hear the good news of the gospel. For them to hear the good news of the gospel, they must first encounter Christians—Christians like you. Pray that you would develop deeper, more significant relationship with them so you can, in turn, speak truth. “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:14).

Pray for opportunities to minister to them. Many people come to faith after seeing Christ’s loved displayed through the ministry of Christians. Pray for opportunities to minister to unbelievers so that your ministry can have an evangelistic effect. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

Pray for them faithfully and persistently. Our temptation is to grow discouraged in prayer, to pray for a while and, when we see no visible results, to give up. But God calls us to persevere in prayer. “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving” (Colossians 4:2). (See also the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8.)

Pray for a burden to plead for their souls. Paul was willing to tell the church at Rome of his great longing to see the salvation of the lost. Do you share this deep longing? Pray that God would give you a great burden for souls. “Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved” (Romans 10:1).

Pray for boldness in generating and taking opportunities to speak the gospel. Even Paul longed for this boldness and for the confidence that he was speaking the right and best words. Pray that God would give you the boldness and, that when you take the opportunities, that he would then guide your words. “[Pray] also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel…” (Ephesians 6:19).

Pray for other believers to encounter them. God almost always uses a succession of people to share the gospel with people before they are saved. Pray, then, that God would lead other Christians into the lives of the unbelievers you love, that they too would provide an example of Christian living and that they too would speak the gospel. “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth” (1 Corinthians 3:6).

Other Prayers

Here are a few more biblical emphases to guide your prayers.

Pray that God would use any circumstance to do his work in them. We pray to a God who is sovereign and who sovereignly works his good will. Often he saves people through difficult circumstances, through bringing them to the very end of themselves. Pray, then, that God would arrange circumstances, whether easy or difficult, to lead them to salvation. “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word” (Psalm 119:67). As you pray for the unbelievers you love, always pray to God: “your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

Pray that God would extend his mercy to them. God assures us that he wishes for all people to turn to him in repentance and faith. He receives no joy from seeing people perish. Pray, then, that God would be glorified in the salvation of these people. “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

Pray with confidence. Finally, pray with confidence. God expects we will pray, God invites us to pray, God commands us to pray. Why? Because God loves to hear us pray and God loves to respond to our prayers. So as you pray for unbelievers, pray with confidence that God hears your prayers. “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” (James 5:16).

Inspirational Prayers and Blessings

These inspirational prayers have been taken from many poetic sources: the Essene Gospels of Jesus, the Book of Hymns from the Dead Sea Scrolls, and old liturgical prayer books of the 19th century.

Share these prayers with your friends and family. Spread the word of God far and wide.

An Inspirational Prayer

Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow; the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day. Either He will shield you from suffering, or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, then. Put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations, and say continually: “The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in Him and I am helped. He is not only with me but in me, and I in Him.”

“I have called upon Thee, For Thou wilt hear me, o Lord, and hear my speech. Show Thy marvelous loving kindness, O Thou that savest by Thy right hand those who put their trust in Thee from those That rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of thine eye; Hide me under the shadow of Thy wings.”

[Psalm 7: 6,7,8]

All Things Exist By Thee

Thou hast made known unto me Thy deep, mysterious things. All things exist by Thee and there is none beside Thee. By Thy Law Thou hast directed my heart that I set my steps straight forward upon right paths and walk where Thy presence is.

“For the Lord will not cast off forever: but though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men” [Lamentation 3:31-33]

Prayers From the Dead Sea Scrolls

I Have Reached The Inner Vision

I have reached the inner vision and through Thy spirit in me I have heard Thy wondrous secret. Through Thy mystic insight Thou hast caused a spring of knowledge to well up within me, a fountain of power, pouring forth living waters, a flood of love and of all-embracing wisdom like the splendor of eternal Light.

In Thy Mercy

Father, God, in Thy mercy, in Thy love, Be Thou with us now. For we know and we speak of Thy love. And help us then to put away, for the hour, The cares of this life; that we may know in truth That the spirit and the lamb say, “Come.” Let them that hear also say, “Come.” Let all that will, come and drink of the water of life.

My Prayer for Today – Prayer for Body – Prayer for Labor – Prayer for Emotions – Prayer for Social life – Prayer for Spiritual Growth

When the alarm rings and your day is about to begin, take those few minutes of early consciousness to pray for yourself. Often we leave prayer for desperate moments when we feel in over our heads. Sometimes we even hesitate praying for ourselves. Yet this is what Matthew 7:7 calls us to: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”

Here is a guide for those moments before you slip out of bed. It’s easy to remember and it’s a way to invite God to be at work in your life. You will be amazed at the difference it makes.

Use your own words to talk to God as you ask Him to BLESS your body, labor, emotions, social life, and spiritual growth. Pray silently for yourself and one another. Then head to the shower knowing God has been invited into your day. Expect to see Him work.

BODY

Lord, thank You for my health. Thank You that You are my Healer. Strengthen me physically today in the specific area of ______________________. I ask for Your power to help me function. Bless me with an increased measure of health today. Help me to feel it, acknowledge it, and thank You when I notice it. Give me wisdom to be disciplined in managing my body, in what I eat and how I exercise. Protect me as I go about my day. Thank You that You are a shield around me. Thank You for life. Help me to embrace what I can do today in Your strength.

LABOR

Lord, thank You for the things I have to do today. Though some of them may not be what I choose, help me to focus on what is a good use of my time. You know where I work hard and where I slack off. Help me to pay attention to what is important, not just what is urgent. Please multiply my efforts today and help me to be productive. Thank You that my weak points are the very entry points of Your strength. Fill me with Your Spirit. Help me to consciously do what is in front of me in Your name and in Your strength, giving thanks to You for Your presence with me. Please help me today to do ______________________.

EMOTIONS

Lord, thank You that I don’t need to be dragged by my emotions. You know how easy it is to slip into negativity or anxiousness when things around feel shaky. Thank You that You have promised to be my Rock. You give me a firm place to stand when I look to You for my stability. Help me to cultivate a grateful heart, to see even the smallest of Your blessings and let thanks arise within me. Thank You that when I offer my praise and thanks to You, even in moments when it feels hard to do, You use it as a door to come in and work on my behalf. Help me not to allow other people’s emotions dictate how I feel. Give me Your peace today. May I trust You with what robs me of that peace. I give You my concerns about ______________________ and thank You that You are at work on my behalf. I choose to be thankful today.

SOCIAL LIFE

Lord, thank You for my family and friends. Help me to be a blessing to them. Please lead me into purposeful friendships with others who seek You, too. Give me strength to distance myself from social situations that could draw me away from You. Fill my lonely places with Your presence. Please guide me into social settings where I can bless others and bring Your love. Help me to limit social media so I have time for real face-to-face encounters. Prayer for Relationships – Relationship Prayer – Prayer to Help – Prayer in the mids of conflict – Prayer Challenging relationship

Prayer for Relationships

The issue of relationships is something that’s constantly talked about among both men and women. Husbands, wives, kids, bosses, neighbors… relationships can be rewarding and fulfilling, but they can also be testy and challenging. When your heart is involved, your deepest needs tend to come to the surface.

So how can you pray for your relationships? Here are a few sample prayers for when you’re at a loss for words.

1. Prayer in the midst of conflict

Father in Heaven, I know I add fuel to the fire in my relationships because I am needy myself. I don’t like to admit it, but I know it’s true. Thank You that You see me as I truly am and that You still love me. Please help me to see myself honestly, and to own my own part in this conflict before I point my finger. Please give me insight into my own needs and give me patience as I encounter needs in the ones I love. I need Your help, Lord. Please guide me. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.

Conflict very often reflects unmet needs. Sometimes there’s an easy solution, such as the need for sleep. But frequently, the need is much deeper:

  • To feel valued and heard.
This often stems from insecurity or past hurts, and may show up as overly defensive with gloves on, ready to fight.
  • To forgive others or one’s self.
The need to control can stem from an angry heart, and can show up as manipulation.

If your unmet needs are showing up in your relationships, talk to a mentor, friend, or a counselor to work through some of these issues. Pray for patience as you encounter the unmet needs in others, and regularly ask God for His help.

2. Prayer for help when I feel “less than”

Lord God, I so often feel inadequate without even realizing it. The disapproval I pour out on others often stems from my own insecurity. I don’t intend to fight. God, I need Your help. Please remind me to address my issues. Help me to see myself differently and to allow You to love me and to change me. Help me to find my confidence in Your strength and in Your forgiveness. I invite You into my life today. I need You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

It’s a natural tendency to want God to change the other person. Yet the reality is that you can only change yourself. Sometimes just realizing what words and situations make you feel “less than” is enough to begin the journey of change. Other times you may need help seeing yourself differently.

Be the beginning of change in your relationships. Find ways to give approval more often to those around you. When things need addressing don’t show your disapproval, but choose a calm time to talk. Ask for prayer. Relationships that are worth keeping are worth the effort.

3. Prayer for the words to say in a challenging relationship

Dear Father in Heaven, it is not possible for me to keep my mouth from speaking things it should not. I need Your power to guard my tongue. Help me to think before I speak. Help me to feel that nudge of Your Holy Spirit before words rush out of my mouth.

Father, I need You to help me to know what to say that will build __________ up rather than tear down or hurt. Please make me aware, by Your divine power, of __________’s needs so I can respond in a way that benefits him/her. Help me to run to You when frustrations and anger bubble up, and may You ease my emotions and send me back with grace on my lips. Help me to be bold when issues need addressing, but gentle and loving in the way I address them.

Father, You are the only one who can perform this miracle in my life. I look to You today to set a guard on my heart and my mouth, as I don’t want to grieve You. And please forgive me for the times when I have grieved You! Walk with me closely today, because I need the help of Your Holy Spirit in dealing with __________. Thank You. I pray this in Jesus’ Name, amen.

God gives sound counsel in His word about how to deal with relationships. It all begins with what comes out of your mouth.

Listen to His words of wisdom:

“The tongue holds the power of life and death.” Proverbs 18:21

The power of our words is a tremendous force. It has been said that people will seldom remember the words you spoke, but they will always remember how you made them feel.

It’s true, isn’t it? It’s easy to remember those who have made you feel inspired and empowered. But it’s also easy to recall those who made you feel down and useless… just by their words.

Words have power. They can heal or hurt, build up or drag down, encourage or discourage, inspire or deflate.

You can begin the change today. And the good news is that you don’t have to do it alone! Jesus wants to transform and restore your challenging relationships, starting today. I encourage you to use the form below to connect with a mentor for prayer. You can also leave a prayer request in the comments section and we’ll pray for you there.

Effective Prayer – Prayers to pray – Prayer

It’s one thing to pray, but quite another to pray effectively. You can learn to pray with confidence, knowing that God is listening and will act for your good according to His will.

“…but the people who know their God will display strength and take action.” Daniel 11:32

One of the greatest needs in the Christian community is for Christians to discover and experience the privilege and power of effective prayer. Dr. Bill Bright wrote, “History records no significant movement of the Spirit of God that has not been preceded by a very strong prayer emphasis. And understandably so, because the omnipotent God has chosen to communicate with individuals through prayer as well as through His inspired Word.” Dr. Bright went on to say, “Our Savior Himself, to whom all authority in heaven and earth was given, spent much time praying while here on earth. Now seated at the right hand of God the Father, He intercedes on our behalf. Since He is our example, we can rightly conclude that the ministry of prayer is the highest calling a Christian can have. A vast reservoir of power, wisdom, and grace becomes available to us through prayer.”

I invite you to join me in praying that God will continue to use fasting and prayer to help set ablaze the Body of Christ and send revival in this critical moment of history for our beloved nations and for the Church. I urge you to join others who have committed themselves to fasting and prayer and to teaching these disciplines to other Christians, inspiring believers to trust our sovereign God to send revival to our needy nation and world.

God’s power is released mightily as we commit ourselves to praying effectively. In Acts 4 we read how the Christians prayed together with one heart, mind, and spirit. All the believers were united as they lifted their voices in prayer (Acts 4:24). The result was a great boldness in sharing God’s message (Acts 4:31).

It is our earnest prayer that you will be directed and enabled by the Holy Spirit to become personally involved in praying for a worldwide revival and spiritual awakening. Also, that you will be actively involved in boldly sharing God’s good news with people in your sphere of influence.

To be effective in our prayers, first of all, we must be open to God’s will and direction for our lives as revealed through His Word.

As we read and study the scripture, we will learn what the will of God the Father is, and as we know His will, we can pray and ask according to it. 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that it is not the will of the Lord that any perish and that He desires all to come to repentance.  Therefore, when I pray for those around me who do not know Christ, I can be sure that I am praying according to God’s will.

The Word of God also tells me that I am the Lord’s witness. “You are my witnesses,’ declares the Lord'” (Isaiah 43:10). This means that I do not only pray for the lost, but I also go and tell them what I have seen, heard, and experienced of the Lord. I go and share the good news of God’s love and forgiveness with them.

Hearing and knowing God’s Word and then going and doing according to His Word will result in many answers to our prayers.

“”I love the Lord because He hears my prayers and answers them. Because He bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I breathe!”” Psalm 116:1-2 (Living Bible).

Spending time developing our own personal relationship with the Lord is a valuable investment of our time. God has made it possible for us to communicate with Him through our prayers. He speaks to us through His Word, the Bible. Therefore, the more we pray and read His Word, the deeper our relationship with Him will be.

A simple guide to help us be more effective in our communication with God can be remembered by the acronymn ACTS.

  • Adoration. This means we worship God for Who He is rather than just for what He does. In adoration we verbalize our worship, praise, honor, and exaltation of God. Many of the Psalms help us focus on the attributes of God, such as His loving kindness, His mercy, His majesty, and many other attributes. Adoration is expressing our love for Him through our words.
  • Confession. As we begin our prayer with worshipful adoration of God, the Holy Spirit will often reveal any sin in our life that needs to be confessed. To confess means “to agree with.” In other words, I agree with God concerning my sin — that it is sin. I also agree with God that the blood of Jesus Christ has paid for that sin. This leads me to thank Him for His forgiveness.
  • Thanksgiving. Giving thanks expresses faith, and faith pleases God. In giving thanks we are verbally expressing our gratefulness and appreciation for what God does. Thanksgiving is a way of telling God, “I trust You.” It is the opposite of whining and becoming bitter.
  • Supplication. Supplication is telling God our requests. We can pray for everything that concerns our lives, as well as for the needs of others. ACTS helps our prayers stay focussed on God’s priorities for us.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6.

“When I make a request to God, how can I pray with confidence?”

Four key words answer this question.

  1. Abide. Abiding is the key to successful praying. In John 15:7 Jesus states, “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you will and it shall be done for you.” Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the Word of Christ richly dwell within you.”
  2. Ask. Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:7, 8, Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. For every one who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks it shall be opened.” Someone has said, when we get to heaven we’ll find a lot of unopened packages with our name on them because we did not claim them through prayer.
  3. Believe. In Matthew 21:22 we read, “Everything you ask in prayer, believing you shall receive.” Faith, which is an attitude of believing, pleases God.
  4. Receive. If you are abiding in Christ, and if you have asked, believing, get ready to receive the answer. In other words, when you pray for rain, carry an umbrella. John 16:24 says, “Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.”

Prayers for Peace and Happiness

Here are prayers that will bless you today!

Prayers for Peace and Happiness

You may be feeling discouraged or empty today. Those around you may offer little inspiration and answers. Here are prayers to strengthen, bring hope, and help you open up communication with God.

Refresh and Gladden My Spirit

“O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit. Purify my heart. Illumine my powers. I lay all my affairs in Thy hand. Thou art my Guide and my Refuge. I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved; I will be a happy and joyful being. O God! I will no longer be full of anxiety, nor will I let trouble harass me. I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life. O God! Thou art more friend to me than I am to myself. I dedicate myself to Thee, O Lord.”

Lead Me to Peace

“Lead me from death to life, from falsehood to truth. Lead me from despair to hope, from fear to trust. Lead me from hate to love, from war to peace. Let peace fill my heart, my world, my universe.

Amen.”

Prayer When Words Won’t Come

“O My Father, I have moments of deep unrest — moments when I know not what to ask by reason of the very excess of my wants. I have in these hours no words for Thee, no conscious prayers for Thee. My cry seems purely worldly; I want only the wings of a dove that I may flee away. Yet all the time Thou has accepted my unrest as a prayer. Thou has interpreted its cry for a dove’s wings as a cry for Thee, Thou has received the nameless longings of my heart as the intercessions of Thy Spirit. They are not yet the intercessions of my spirit; I know not what to ask. But Thou knowest what I ask, O my God. Thou knowest the name of that need which lies beneath my speechless groan. Thou knowest that, because I am made in Thine image, I can find rest only in what gives rest to Thee; therefore Thou hast counted my unrest unto me for righteousness, and has called my groaning Thy Spirit’s prayer.

Amen.”

Prayer for Anxious People

“Father, I pray for (name one or more) and others in my circle of family and friends who are carrying heavy loads… Your Word says an anxious heart weighs a person down, and this is how I think they must feel—as if they’re carrying heavy loads, more than they can bear. When they feel upset and beside themselves, calm them down and comfort them with the assurance of Your love. Help them not be overwhelmed by anxious thoughts. (Proverbs 12:25a; Psalm 94:19) Our hearts are not supposed to be troubled; but that’s their struggle—help them trust

You and the Lord Jesus, as I know they must. Help them understand that You are the One who makes a way when things seem impossible; nothing is too hard for You! (John 14:27; Isaiah 43:19; Jeremiah 32:17; Luke 1:37) Help them be faithful to You and to the way You want them to live, for You guard the lives of those who are faithful; You protect them and never turn away from them. Help them know You as their fortress, as the rock in whom they take refuge, as One who is good, whose love endures forever, whose faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 97:10; Proverbs 2:8; Psalm 37:28; 94:22; 100:5)

In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Prayer of Hope

“O Lord, in Whom is our hope, remove far from us, we pray Thee, empty hopes and presumptuous confidence. Make our hearts so right with Thy most holy and loving heart, that hoping in Thee we may do good; until that day when faith and hope shall be abolished by sight and possession, and love shall be all in all.

Amen.”

Jesus Is Willing To Heal You – Healing Prayer Healing Scriptures from Bible

Jesus Is Willing To Heal You

“Everyone tried to touch him, because healing power went out from him, and he healed everyone.” (Luke 6:19)

God wants you well. Disease is not his will for you. There’s a story in Mark 1:40-42 of a very sick man who came to Jesus. He said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can heal me.” The man doesn’t doubt Christ’s capacity to fix his body; he does, however, doubt his willingness. Jesus reassures him. He heals him and then affirms: “I am willing.” Jesus wants you to know that He has both the capacity and the desire to heal you. Here is a sequence of Scripture promises and prayers of faith to guide you in your journey to healing.

“God has healthy intentions.”

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Lord, while your intent is goodness, there is harm in the world and there is sickness in my body. Your promise is to give me a hopeful future. I receive your good plan for my life, a plan of health and hope. Firmly fix me in your presence. Develop holiness in my soul as I wait for you to act on my behalf. My heart belongs to you.

“Jesus made it possible.”

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)

Father, you have provided access to your power through Jesus who in His death took my disease on himself and gave me his perfect wholeness. That is the basis of my prayer.  You are a gracious God who takes great care of His children. I am blessed to be a part of your family. I am grateful for this infathomable gift. And I receive it now in Jesus’ Name.

“Audacious asking.”

You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it! (John 14:13,14)

Okay, I’m simply asking: Lord, heal me! Father Your Word assures us that we may come boldly before the Throne of Grace to ask what we may. Righteous King, as Your child I trust that my condition is in Your hands. You are trustworthy and worthy of all praise. Help to endeavor to love with all my heart as I await my deliverance.

“What’s my part in my healing.”

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you.” (James 1:5)

Father, I ask for wisdom to know and faithfully execute my part in my healing. Show me if I need to make adjustments in my life to strengthen my body to fight this invader. Give wisdom to my health care providers. Thank you that you use many means including modern technologies and medications. Work with these natural means to provide me with supernatural healing.

“The caveat to the promise.”

“But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against.” Mark 11:25

Jesus, Your promises are audacious: that I can ask, and I will receive. But there is a condition. In order to receive your gracious gift of healing, I must extend grace to others. So I take time now to consider anyone I need to forgive. “Father, forgive them. They don’t know what they are doing.” I do not have time or energy to fight human battles. I leave these to you, and together we will win this fight of faith against sickness.

“This medicine has healthy side effects.”

“My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.” (Proverbs 4:20-22 NLT)

Lord, I am willing to take any medicine that will aid in my healing, especially the nutrition of your Word. You used words to create the world. I will borrow your words, declare them, and you will recreate my body. Revitalize my flesh Oh Lord with the perfect healing that comes from the Kingdom of Heaven. Help me live with a heart that truly practices praising, adoring, and loving you incessantly with infinite affection. Your love for me will never fail.

“Talk to yourself.”

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” (Psalm 103:1-3 NIV)

As David talked to his body, commanding his entire being to praise the Lord, so do I. I command every cell in my body to worship the living God. Like David, I boldly choose to be mindful of the benefits that you offer me. Among them is healing. Diseased cells, you cannot worship because you are rebellious, existing contrary to God’s intent. Therefore, you must go by the edict of the living God. Immune system, you are part of my inmost being, so rise up and restore my physical body to God’s design.

“Quantum reality.”

“I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24)

God, Your view of time is different than mine. Part of faith is knowing this and trusting that what you say is done, is, in fact, done, even before I’ve experienced it. I believe that I have received – past tense – all that you have promised, and I hold on to this, irrespective of my own experience, time-frame, or present reality. Father, forgive me when I don’t trust you as I should, perfect in me a resilient faith.

“It aint’ over yet.”

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” (Psalm 139:14-16 NIV)

Lord, I do love you, and I receive the benefits: a long, disease-free, satisfying life! Lord, there are many things we have yet to accomplish, many people that need my love and influence, and many joys to experience with you. The thief – sickness – will not steal, kill, or destroy that purpose. Even when the stress of the fight wears on me, I will remain in Your overwhelming peace.

“My body is not my body.”

“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

God, you created my body as a perfect environment for your Spirit to thrive and work your purposes through me. My body is not intended as a habitat for disease. Whatever I have to do, whatever medical profesionals have to do, whatever you need to do to change the chemistry of my body to make it healthy again, let it be!

An Intercessory Prayer – Encouraging Others

Have you ever felt an unexplained burden on your heart to pray for the masses, for unnamed others, for your community or the world at large? The Bible is filled with examples of men and women who lifted up others in prayer, and Ephesians 6:18 tells us to: pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. If others are on your heart and mind today, but you’re not sure what to say, pray this intercessory prayer along with us now!

Lord Jesus, I come to you today and thank you for the privilege of praying for others. I’ve been the recipient of others’ prayers so often, I understand how powerful intercessory prayer can be. I ask you first to cleanse my heart and show me if there is any unconfessed sin in my own life so that my prayers for others will not be hindered. I thank you that through your name, I can come boldly before you and pray with confidence, according to your will and know that you hear me.
I lift up those in my neighborhood, in my city, and in my church. Begin with those who follow you, and help them influence others for good. Let them be salt and light, pointing others to you. Deepen their love for you and for the people around them. Guard them from hypocrisy or from giving in to temptations that could harm the cause of Christ. Raise up leaders who will serve you faithfully at all costs. Turn the hearts of fathers toward their children, and families toward you. Help them to exemplify your values, and make them bold in their faith. Strengthen my own family, and those closest to me, Lord. May our love for you help us to love and forgive others and make a difference in our world.
I pray for teachers, for students, and for all those in authority and leadership, both locally and throughout the world. Give them your mind, and surround them with godly counselors who will exercise integrity and work for justice, morality, and freedom. Help them to esteem you, not dismiss you. Send revival, Lord.
